Soundscapes of Hope: Skye Douglas Project Weaves Nordic Jazz with Soulful Intention

Thursday May 15th 2025, 7:00 pm at 40 Knots Winery, Comox

Skye Douglas Project>From Nanaimo a musical force has emerged that's both reflective and radiant. The Skye Douglas Project (SDP) perform with a fresh yet timeless voice, blending Nordic Jazz, World Music, Neo-Classical influences, and spiritual depth into a rich tapestry of original sound.</p>
<p class=At the heart of the ensemble is Dean Boland (Skye) - trumpeter, composer, and visionary. With a Master's in Composition focused on the elusive and expressive "Nordic Tone," Boland brings a deeply personal and minimalist aesthetic to SDP's music. His compositions, influenced by the likes of Mathias Eick and the Wasserfuhr Brothers, invite listeners into a meditative space where music becomes both prayer and celebration.

The ensemble's sound is a conversation - intentional, joyful, and spacious, offering room for reflection and imagination. Their performances are more than concerts; they are shared experiences of beauty, peace, and hope

Skye Douglas Project is:
Dean Boland -Trumpet/Keyboard
Nick Peck - Keyboards
Quin Etheridge-Pedden - Violin & Bass
James McRae - Drums

SDP's mission is simple yet profound: to be agents of Hope and Peace, drawing listeners inward and upward through music that feels like a breath of fresh, Nordic air.
