This week's jazz at The Little Red Church presents something old and something new, when Stardust7 takes the stage at 7:30 pm this Thursday, November 23rd. Many regular jazz fans will be familiar with the elite six-person jazz ensemble but the new vocalist, Kevin Ayers, will put a whole new spin on the evening.
The band will present authentic versions of songs made famous by the likes of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Tony Bennett: all beautifully complemented by Kevins powerhouse vocals.
Stardust7 includes a well respected sixsome: Grahame Edwards (bass), Michael Eddy (keys), Paul Nuez (trombone), Jack Reynolds (sax/flute), Dave Lymburner (trumpet) and Jonathan Fairbank (drums).
The musical legacy of these great singers and their tender lyrics remains lasting and relevant to this day. The Stardust7 repertoire is from that very special era of music, the unforgettable songs and the clever arrangements, will all converge for a memorable evening of fine musicianship, romantic swing and ballads.
This is the third performance presented by the constituted groupand as Kevin told me, "The band has been a popular attraction for many years, but we have a new look and a revamped repertoire, and a new name. I can promise you a memorable performance."
Please join the regular jazz lovers who will welcome you into their warm, friendly, and safe weekly gathering, and expose yourself to a thoroughly enjoyable concert. Doors open at 7:00 pm. Showtime is 7:30. Admission is $15 for society members, $20 for non-members. 2024 memberships ($25) will be available at the door.
