More great livejazz awaits live music fans when Georgia Straight Jazz Society presents the Blaine Dunaway Trio.
Blaine Dunaway, violinist, chin cellist, trumpet and flugelhorn player has a degree in jazz, and has studied in Banff with Dave Holland, Frank Foster, Joe Henderson, Slide Hampton, David Liebman and many more. He has performed with Hugh Fraser, Tom Banks, Bob Hales, Miles Black, as well as Eartha Kitt, and Rosemary Clooney.
Said Blaine, "I was appreciative and excited to find I had been offered an early date in the autumn season. We're really looking forward to meeting supporters and aficionados one more time, after the pandemic hiatus. It's always great to play for an appreciative audience."
Blaine is joined by two other local jazz artists: Tony Wilson, guitar, is also a composer, arranger, recording artist and bandleader. He has toured Europe several times, and studied with Kevin Eubanks and John Abercrombie.
Steve Wallace, bass, who for many years has been the first call jazz bassist in Toronto. He's played with Oscar Peterson, Rob McConnell, Phil Nimmons, Ed Bickert, Zoot Simms, Rosemary Clooney and many more.
Admission is $15 for jazz society members, $20 for non-members. Annual memberships ($15) will also be available. All payable either by cash or credit card.
